Improving the paint scheme

For several years now I have been painting my Mentors Legion Space Marines. Most likely the collection was started in ~2015 if I remember correctly. Since then there have been different miniatures, different ranges, different effort put in and different skill.

But what I never changed so far: The paint scheme. Sure, repetition is a very good training to get a steady hand and get a very good feeling for the colours used. How they flow, how they behave, how to dilute..

But recently I read that only by changing techniques you really can progress in your painting skills. Trying out new things makes you learn new things, having thoughts about colour theory, how the light falls onto your miniature, thinking about new dark, mid and light tones and so on.

So finally I started changing a bit. This Primaris Intercessor Sergeant now uses a blue ink instead of the black one. Also, there is now a Mentor Legion shoulder pad. The base design has changed. And I finally started to shape the green colour more than just putting on the basecoat and then using a dark wash. Here I tried the first time to wet blend the green armour parts a bit. For the first try it really came out nicely. But there is still much progress to archieve.. the next Mentor will be different again!
